In the year 2015, Tasneem Fatima, Founder & President of Delhi State Wheelchair Basketball Association, participated in 2nd National Wheelchair Basketball Championship from Delhi. Tasneem, being a Spinal cord injured patient, started playing Wheelchair Basketball just after 4 months of her injury & got a medal in less than 6 months. When people struggle to get out of depression, after being on the wheelchair, Tasneem was inspired by her brother "Javed Ali", who was also a Sportsperson & encouraged her for playing basketball. As a result, DSWBA had conducted successful camps, where free accommodation, food & transportation was provided to the players at their own cost.
Recently, Indian Team played it’s 1st ever qualifying Championship in Bangkok for Paralympics.
